What To Expect
EASY ACCESS: 55 min from Paris by car or 1hr by direct train (2.5 euros) - Escape to this charming 17th-century stone house in a serene hamlet by the river. Cosima and Frédéric warmly welcome you, offering a perfect couple or family-friendly retreat.
Explore the house’s timeless interiors and stroll through its lush bamboo garden with 50 species. Uncover WWII shrapnel and WWI graffiti inside, immersing yourself in history.
Enjoy a delightful French lunch with wine, cheese, and coffee, paired with an apéritif and appetizers (no pre-set menu, let yourself be surprised!). The French gastronomic meal is recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Taste it with your hosts !
After lunch, wander with your hosts along the river, passing by medieval ruins and Cosima’s art studio.
A truly authentic experience with ordinary citizens: your hosts are not hospitality nor travel profesionals. Frédéric is a retired researcher and Cosima is an artist and retired tour guide.

Important info
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Service animals allowed. Suitable for all physical fitness levels. You can either choose the "Transportation included" option (pick up at your hotel by our driver, mid-range car or van), OR get there by your own means. The precise address in the village of Mauperthuis will be provided after booking: 1. Use UBER or UBER RESERVE (up to 90 days in advance) to book your ride there and back (expect 95 euros one way for 4 people). If you do not book, you might not be able to find any available UBER driver nearby to leave the village. 2. Take a RER train (P Line) to Coulommiers (2.5 euros one way) at 9.17 am at Paris Gare de l'Est. No need to buy tickets in advance. In Coulommiers, call an Uber (20 euros one way). 3. RENT A CAR: expect 150 euros for a mid-range car for 2 days.
What's included
In-person guide: Spanish, English, German. Welcome drink (1 glass) with appetizers + French wine (1 glass). Visit to the bamboo garden, the interior of the house and atelier.. LIve assistance on how to get there. 2-course French meal (main course + local cheese & bread + dessert). No preset menu: let the experience take you!. A stroll with your hosts in the hamlet, river, medieval ruins.... Coffee and/or Tea. Round-trip private transportation (optional), including pick up.
What's not included
A gourmet-level culinary experience. But expect typical local/French homemade cuisine by your hosts.
