This 90-minute walk will take in some of the City of London’s most impressive ancient ruins, from Roman times to medieval through to carefully preserved testaments of the WWII Blitz; as well as a small park containing some moving memorials; an open space which hosted some of the country’s most dramatic and pivotal scenes; and finally one of its most treasured churches – a survivor of many disasters and upheavals in its 900-year history. Throughout the walk the contrast between the City’s modern glass and steel structures and these almost hidden centuries-old remains will fascinate.
