This is a food tour where we stroll through some non-touristic parts of Athens, exploring the rich culinary history that has influenced our culture and traditions. Our journey begins at Panepistimio metro station, Korai square, where we encounter a traditional kiosk for Koulouri, considered to be the Greek to go breakfast.
At each stop, I will share the background story of the product or meal, highlighting its significant role in our cuisine throughout history. Along the way, you can expect interesting and amusing anecdotes that add to the experience.
One of the highlights of the tour includes visiting the first pastry shop in town, established after Greek independence. Here, we will have the pleasure of tasting the traditional Greek style doughnuts.
