What To Expect

Following one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in Dublin, The Dublin Coastal Ramble weaves together panoramic views with stories that span thousands of years.

We begin with a climb up the iconic Killiney Hill, where you'll be rewarded with sweeping views of Dublin Bay, the Wicklow Mountains, and beyond—excellent photo opportunity. From there, we descend along cliffside paths and coastal roads dotted with grand Italian-style villas, originally built by wealthy Dubliners returning from the Grand Tour.

As we walk, you’ll hear tales of pirates hung in the coves below, famine relief works etched into the hillside, and a WW II-era “EIRE” sign. Trace the footsteps of medieval pilgrims, uncover evidence of Neolithic settlements, and—if luck is on our side—spot the local herd of wild goats that roam Dalkey Island.

The tour finishes in Dalkey, with a rest and a drink in a local establishment.

This tour is not wheelchair accessible. There is some uneven ground, inclines and steps.
