In the heart of Kyoto's Nishijin kimono district, immerse yourself in the art of Urushi lacquerware. Guided by skilled artisans in a traditional lacquer studio, create a personalized cup adorned with vibrant colors inspired by Kyoto's rich heritage. Select your hues, practice elegant strokes, and apply your design—all while savoring matcha paired with seasonal Kyoto sweets. With our unique finishing process, you'll walk away with your handcrafted piece on the same day, making it a perfect keepsake or gift from your Kyoto experience.
Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller. Public transportation options are available nearby. Suitable for all physical fitness levels. Not recommended for those who are sensitive to solvent smells (we use low-odor materials, but some scent remains).
After passing Hirano Shrine, walk north along Nishioji Street until you see a coin laundry on your left. Turn left (west) at the coin laundry, and you will find our signboard. The workshop is on the second floor, up the green staircase.
